Description
The handmade Oval clay tray is intended for professional and private use. Given its conductivity properties and resistance to high temperatures, it obtains unbeatable results in any type of roasts and stews: meats, fish, rice, lasagna, etc.
Resistant to all types of heat sources: wood oven, electric, direct gas fire, charcoal, embers...
Due to its oval shape, it is very suitable for round ovens, with this shape you will get more use of the capacity.
The cookware products are primarily made from high-quality refractory clay also known as Pereruela mud. These trays are handmade and undergo a double firing process at temperatures around 1100°C (2012°F) to increase their resistance to thermal and mechanical shock.
Care and Maintenance
FIRST USE
Generally, and depending on the product, we recommend carrying out a treatment prior to the first use in heat exposure, called “Curing”, to close the pores. There are two types
-
-Forced curing
Add water halfway through the piece, add a little oil (4.6 tablespoons) and boil for 2 hours, simmer preferably in an oven of any kind, make sure that the water does not evaporate completely.
-Natural curing
Immerse completely in normal tap water for 24 hours, in a container that covers the water completely, including lids for pots, etc. Then remove, let dry and use when you decide, that same day or any other.
Care and maintenance
Store in a dry place, avoid bumps and rubbing to make sure not to deteriorate the glaze, whenever you place one pot on top of another, place some separation material. Cleaning preferably by hand although the dishwasher can be used.
